NEW YEAR, NEW BEGINNINGS

January 2nd, 2025 | Pastor Gino

As the new year ushers itself in, we are reminded of the new life we have in Jesus Christ. A life of hope, purpose, and renewal thru the process of sanctification in the power of the Holy Spirit. We have been transformed in Christ and brought out from the domain of darkness and into the kingdom of light. We have been spiritually reborn and our new identity is marked by the life we now live in the Son of God who has loved us and given himself for us (Galatians 2:20).

For many, the new year marks the opportunity to start over, begin afresh, and engage life with a new sense of motivation. As Christian’s, this is an idea we can fully embrace. Thru repentance and faith we can know that our sins are forgiven, even forgotten (Psalm 103:12); thru our prayers we can know that God hears us and will answer our prayers in due time (Jeremiah 29:12; Matthew 7:11); and thru our fellowship with the saints we can know that we will have faithful friends who will endure difficult times with us and rejoice with us in our success (Romans 12:15).

May this new year encourage you to grow in your relationship with the Lord and with His people. Commit yourself to reading His Word and praying daily; faithfully attending the gathering of the saints; and living as one who has been adopted and made a child of the Living God because that it what you truly are (1 John 3:1)!

The Lord Jesus declared that he is making all things new, including you (Revelation 21:5). This process began when He was raised to life and took his rightful position as King at the right hand of the Father. He continues to rule and reign even now, subduing and putting all his enemies under his feet (1 Corinthians 15:25). So, rejoice dear saint because your salvation is near! Rejoice all the more because the renewal of all things is nearer than you think when our Lord will return once again!

May this new year mark a new beginning for you as you look to Him and cast your eyes upon the glory of things seen and things yet to come. Pray big! Live well! And trust in the One who is making all things new! Happy New Year FBC!
